If I were so bold
not much of a poet, however….
anything vince can do I can do almost as good. 🙂
In admiration of my friend, vince’s ability to write poetry, and in enjoyment of the beautiful day in the park yesterday, I wrote this.
Please give me grace because I do not write poetry often
IF I WERE SO BOLD (of the winter to come)
The light it casts a shadow
And I fear I fall inside
Of the darkened places we’d hope to flee
Have become the place I hide
And the hope that love would be our mantle
Has become the dust we tread
On the paths these conversations take us
Of the lives we’d live instead
And the winds of fall may bring a change
As the winter brings the cold
Though a warmth our hearts might dare to feel
If to share mine true, I were so bold
