How to Get from Start to Finish may as well be my first record, mostly because its the first I truly felt proud of long after releasing it. I wanted to make a record where I could do everything myself. All the instrumentation, mixing, producing–everything. The record goes on a couple different musical walkabouts through different genres and themes, some songs focussed on congregational church-songs, others more introspective and personal, and a few instrumental experiments just to see what I could do. There was definitely some inspiration from artists like Sufjan Stevens (but more so in the absurdly long track list and clever titling of songs, than musical style).

This record is simply about how to get from one place to the other and what happens in-between destinations.
